Today let's talk about a symbol of unity which is located on an island called Sadhu Bat near Vadodara, 3.2 km away in front of the Narmada Dam.  Named the Statue of Unity.  The statue is dedicated to Vallabhbhai Patel, the leader of India's independence movement and a symbol of unity.

Establishment of the Statue of Unity project

The Statue of Unity project was first established on October 7, 2010.  20,000 sq.m.  Spread over an area, the project is surrounded by an artificial lake spread over an area of 12 km.  At 182 meters, it is the tallest statue in the world.

Something new about the Statue of Unity

The project was planned by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Unity Trust.  What is special about this scheme is that the iron required for the idol and the farming implements used in it were collected from farmers in villages across India in the form of donations.  Donations were expected from more than 5000000 Indian farmers, which is why it was named the Statue of Unity.

A three-month nationwide campaign was launched to collect millions of pieces from 6 lakh villages.  During this period, more than 5000 metric tons of iron was collected, and construction of the statue finally began on 31 October 2014.

A statue is being erected in memory of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who represented the Ekta movement in India.  The statue of Sardar Patel was located right in front of the Narmada Dam.  The main purpose of their symbolism is to maintain unity among the people.

In the first phase of the statue, a bridge connecting the main ground of the monument, the center buildings, a garden, a hotel, a convention center, an amusement park, research centers and institutions is being constructed.  The Statue of Unity represents the historical form of Sardar Patel.

Some highlights of the Statue of Unity project

To reduce the time for visitors, there will be a quick elevator, a three-level display of the statue - on the exhibition floor, mezzanine and ceiling - a memorial garden and a large museum and exhibition hall focusing on the life and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.  The observation of the Statue of Unity is at an altitude of about 500 feet above the Matak river which involves about 200 people at a time

Will be able to, and give visitors a vast view of Sardar Sarovar.

A 5 km boat ride is also provided to reach the statue.  Large modern canopied public plaza overlooking the Narmada River and the statue, including food stalls, ornamental gift shops, and other amenities, will provide visitors with a beautiful tour experience.

The statue was laid on 31st October 2013 on the 138th birth anniversary of the present Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.  He l.  That.  Advani announced to the public that once the project is completed, it will be the tallest statue in the world.

Burj Khalifa project manager Michael Graves and a consortium of associates and the Minhartha Group oversee the project.  The project will take 56 months to complete.  The total cost of the project was estimated at Rs 2,063 crore by the government.  Construction of the Statue of Unity project is expected to be completed by 2018.  The monument Ram V.  Prepared by Sutter.

How far has the Statue of Unity project reached recently?

The statue has been built up to the knees so far.  There are currently 2400 employees working on day and night shifts.  With the hard work of day and night, the employees will complete this task soon.

Some controversies concerning the Statue of Unity

Most of the people raised several exceptions to the Statue of Unity project.  According to the original story of Sadhu Beet, it is known as Bawa Tekri which is named after a local goddess and is a place of religious significance.  So the locals there oppose giving land for tourism infrastructural development around the statue.

When 2 billion was allocated for the idol in the 2014/15 Union Budget, many people and political parties criticized the idol's spending on other priorities such as women's safety, education and agricultural schemes.  But in the midst of all this talk, this idol is currently taking its final form.  With the aim of making Gujarat a prominent identity in the field of eco-tourism, the Government of Gujarat will present the Sardar Smarak to the world as a pilgrimage to protect the unity and integrity of Hindustan, protection of culture as well as unity, peace and development.

It will be a matter of pride for Gujarat whenever the construction of the Statue of Unity is completed.  So once you see this idol for sure, with this hope we will meet again with such new things.
